This is a Thought about today, 25 years ago.
I always have pain in my chest, thinking of
the horror so many went through. Frank.
Fiery crashing of planes into buildings.
People leaping to their certain delayed deaths.
Firefighters entering buildings against the flow.
They too will perish, along with many others.
These are the emotions felt today, 25 years later.
But these same moments of terror are occurring today
Around the world, horizontally instead of vertically.
As we hear reports of terrible warfare,
We must each vicariously experience the awfulness
Of what we feel, remembering our own pain and suffering.
Each of us must strive to help create a loving, thoughtful world,
Ending the resolution of differences through violence against others.
