The sugar recently discovered near the center Of the Milky Way is identical to the sugar in Raspberries. It is called erythrulose, a four carbon ketose sugar (C4H8O4). This compound was floating as a gas in an Interstellar molecular cloud. Erythrulose can easily convert to other sugars that fuel life. A former discovery of ethyl formate in that region Gives Raspberries their flavor plus the smell to rum! It was formerly thought that organic sugars Reached planets only via asteroids or meteorites. Now it is concluded that they form spontaneously On icy dust grains, suggesting that life ingredients Are 'universally present across the galaxy!'
