Haiku XXVII opus 899

22 July 2026 2122 Hours Poetry

Sudden explosion
Harpoon flies over water
Contorting body.

Blood blends with the sea
Body is tied to the boat
A long voyage home.

The body slides up
 Multi-ton in size, tail first
Slow on a long haul.

Dragged up towards the knives
Inside, and they are on her
Spiked boots on her corpse.

Fensers with spiked boots
Walk up her body with knives--
Flensing knives in hand.

Cut deep through blubber
Black skin--white margin and base
Piece after huge piece.

All pieces winched off
Crackling sounds as folds backwards
Corpse now flesh alone.

Dissect--continues
Only pieces lie around
Dismembering done.

Weary flensers rest
Long handled knives now at rest,
Having finished work.

Now we need to know
Where all the meat is destined
I learned with great shock.

The destination
Was deep shock for my young mind
For KalKan Dog Food.

Such a horrible
Use of noble, thinking whales
I witnessed murder.

If we understand
We will care. We care, we help.
With help comes results.

Betty Crocker's book
One with all the recipes.
Thought of my mother.

A dash of this and
Dab of that mixed together
Miraculous food.

Sauté the red meat
Beat the cream until it's stiff
Boil the rice just right.

Angel Food Cake done
Hang cake in pan upside down
No shrinking / falling.

It is early morn
I came out of my slumber
Awakened by--Walk?

It is my daughter
She and her dog are ready
Inviting me--Walk?

How nice they care--Walk?
Even though they get me up
Ten minutes to spare.
