Haiku XI opus 783

10 March 2026 1342 Hours Poetry

The Ninth Symphony
Beethoven launched a new gem
Voice with orchestra.

Handel in London
He left his native nation
Johann Bach remained.

Baroque no pause form
Horizontal music style
Played for king and all.

Buxtehude taught
Herr Johan Sebastien Bach
So much improvement.

Bach certainly felt
All his notes bound for heaven
Thus inspired music

Wrote one piece each week
Sung by a church's boys choir
Lunches wrapped with notes.

Bach married two wives
Twenty children together
Music and offspring!

Mozart vertical
Locked into a first motif
Style did change so much.

Palestrina's notes
Could not produce dissonance
Made god uneasy.

Bruckner wrote pauses
Space for reverberation
Echoes in the church.

Tchaikovsky was gay
Much torture to change him back
Music despite all.

'Unanswered Question'
Charles Ives' piece with three tempi
At once. A marvel.

Four symphonies by
Brahms compared to one hundred
Four by J. Haydn.

Classical motif
Made well known with Beethoven's
Fifth--the first movement.

Haydn's last pieces
Were composed in London. And
They're most successful.

The Twelve Tone system
Created by A. Schoenberg
'Revolutioning'!

Joseph Haydn was
Father of the Symphony
Orchestra--large group!

Saint-Saens wrote it. Le
Carnival des Animaux
For all the children.

Mendelsohn had his
Own orchestra when so young
Scottish Symphony.

With Beethoven's Fifth
Being deaf he lost his place
No more conducting.

{Beethoven also 'conducted' the Ninth,
but with much help.}
